Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized two COVID-19 vaccines. VA will have a limited amount of vaccines to start. We've worked with the CDC and other federal partners to develop a phased plan. Our goal is to do the most good for the most people during this time.
Currently, VA is offering COVID-19 vaccine to Veterans already receiving care from the VA, based on CDC and VA risk criteria. If you're eligible to get a vaccine, your VA health care team will contact you.
Veterans who are not enrolled or do not currently receive care at VA can visit VA's Eligibility web page to learn more: Eligibility For VA Health Care | Veterans Affairs
Veterans in one of the categories below are eligible to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center or one of our five Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
You can call the Dole VA COVID vaccine appointment line at (316) 469-0914 to schedule an appointment. Appintments are available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are hosting Saturday clinics as the opportunity allows. When you call for an appointment, schedulers will inform you of those opportunities.
Due to the high volume of calls, please be patient when calling our COVID vaccine appointment line and the CBOCs.
Vaccines are primarily being given at the main Wichita campus in Building 59, located on the southeast corner of the main building. Enter from Kellogg and follow the directional signs. We are hosting vaccination clinics at the CBOCs as frequently as possible.
We are currently offering vaccines to:
-- Veterans age 65+
-- Dialysis Patients
-- Chemotherapy Patients
-- Organ transplant Veterans
-- Homeless Veteran Program participants
-- Dole VA employees
As vaccines become available for more groups of Veterans, we will inform you by letter. VA care teams will also reach out to eligible Veterans to schedule vaccinations. There is no need to preregister or come to a facility to sign up. Visit VA's public-facing COVID-19 vaccine website for more information: https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/.
As stated above, Veterans must already be receiving health care from the VA to be eligible for the vaccine. You can learn more about eligibility and how to apply at www.va.gov/healthbenefits or call 1-877-222-VETS.
