About the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center
The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 2 facility located in Wichita, Kansas. Wichita is the largest city in Kansas with a metropolitan population of 500,000. The Medical Center serves over 30,000 Veterans living in 59 counties of the state.
The Medical Center is a primary and secondary care facility. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, secondary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dentistry, visual impairment and low vision rehabilitation, spinal cord dysfunction, TBI, polytrauma, pain management, PTSD, homeless, MHICM, prosthetic laboratory/orthotics, and extended care services.
The Medical Center is part of VHA VISN 15, which includes the Eastern Kansas Health Care System (Topeka & Leavenworth), Kansas City, Columbia, St. Louis, Marion, and Poplar Bluff VA Medical Centers. The geographic region includes: Kansas, Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Southern Indiana.
