Faye Evans is seen with Medical Center Director Tom Sanders presenting a check for $4000. Ms. Evans has collected old shoes for the past 6 years and donated approximately $35,000 to help the Veterans we so proudly serve.

It is not often when one thinks of old shoes and helping Veterans that a person comes to mind. When one says old shoes and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center a person clearly comes to mind – Faye Evans. Ms. Evans has collected old shoes for the past 6 years and donated approximately $35,000 to help the Veterans we so proudly serve. Ms. Evans collects shoes from the surrounding area reaching out into about 10 communities and then delivers them to the Disabled American Veterans Warehouse in Wichita. The shoes are weighed and Ms. Evan is provided with a penny or two for her dedication.

If you want to help Ms. Evans support our Veterans take your old shoes to: Disabled American Veterans Warehouse at 926 N. Mosley Wichita and tell them they are for Faye Evans  or Deliver them to the drop box Behind American Legion Post 401 at 101 E. 31st S. Wichita.
